ಲಾಭದಾಯಕ ಹುದ್ದೆ: 20 ಶಾಸಕರು ಅನರ್ಹ, ಕಾನೂನು ಹೋರಾಟಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಲಿರುವ ಎಎಪಿ
ನವದೆಹಲಿ: ದೆಹಲಿಯ ಆಡಳಿತಾರೂಢ ಎಎಪಿಯ 20 ಶಾಸಕರನ್ನು ಲಾಭದಾಯಕ ಹುದ್ದೆ ನಿಯಮ ಉಲ್ಲಂಘನೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಸಕತ್ವದಿಂದ ಅನರ್ಹಗೊಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯೋಗ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಶಿಫಾರಸನ್ನು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿ ರಾಮನಾಥ ಕೋವಿಂದ್‌ ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
‘ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯೋಗ (ಇಸಿ) ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೆಹಲಿಯ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆಯ 20 ಸದಸ್ಯರನ್ನು ಅನರ್ಹಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು’ ಎಂದು ಕಾನೂನು ಸಚಿವಾಲಯದ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಯೊಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ.
ಸದ್ಯ ಅನರ್ಹಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಶಾಸಕರ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಸಚಿವ ಕೈಲಾಸ್‌ ಗಹ್ಲೋಟ್‌ ಅವರೂ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಒಟ್ಟು 70 ಮಂದಿ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಬಲದ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 66 ಶಾಸಕರು ಎಎಪಿಯವರೇ ಇರುವುದರಿಂದ ಕೇಜ್ರಿವಾಲ್‌ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಆತಂಕವಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ,ಉಪಚುನಾವಣೆ ಬಳಿಕ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಸ್ಥಾನಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
‘ಶಾಸಕರನ್ನು ಅನರ್ಹಗೊಳಸಿರುವುದು ದುರದೃಷ್ಟಕರ ಸಂಗತಿ. ಶಿಫಾರಸನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಗಿತಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಪಕ್ಷ ಕಾನೂನಾತ್ಮಕ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿದೆ’ ಎಂದು ಪಕ್ಷದ ಹಿರಿಯ ನಾಯಕ ಗೋಪಾಲ್‌ ರಾಯ್‌ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸದ್ಯ ಅನರ್ಹಗೊಂಡಿರುವ 20 ಶಾಸಕರ ಸ್ಥಾನಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುಂದಿನ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಚುನಾವಣೆ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ.
ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷ ಜೂನ್‌ ತಿಂಗಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ‘ಎಎಪಿ ಶಾಸಕರು ಸಂಸದೀಯ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಹುದ್ದೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ’ ಎಂದು ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯೋಗ ಹೇಳಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಿದ್ದ ಪಕ್ಷ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸವಾಲು ಹಾಕುವ ಸುಳಿವು ನೀಡಿತ್ತು.
President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday accepted the Election Commission’s recommendation to disqualify 20 MLAs of Delhi’s ruling Aam Aadmi Party for holding offices of profit.
“In the light of the opinion expressed by the Election Commission (EC), the 20 members of the Delhi legislative assembly have been disqualified,” a notification issued by the law ministry quoted the president as saying.
The disqualifications of the 20 MLAs — including Delhi’s transport minister Kailash Gahlot — will not pose an immediate threat to the Kejriwal government, which has 65 legislators including these people in the 70-member House. But the setback is likely to demoralise the party after a string of election losses.
Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Gopal Rai termed the disqualification as unfortunate and said that the party will use all the legal possibilities to get this notification cancelled.
The elections in these 20 assembly seats will have to be held within six months.
In June last year, the poll panel had said the AAP MLAs “did hold de facto the office of parliamentary secretaries”. The party reacted then by saying it respected the ruling and hinted that it might challenge it in court.
